GULFPORT, Mississippi — Authorities say a charter bus carrying more than 30 members of a Columbia church group was rear-ended by an SUV on Mississippi 67, but nobody was injured.
The Sun Heard reports (http://bit.ly/1wQx0d4 ) the accident happened around 4 p.m. Sunday north of Gulfport.
Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Benjamin Seibert says a 2014 GMC Terrain hit the bus, then entered the median and caught fire. The driver of the vehicle was able to escape.
Seibert says the right northbound lane of the highway was closed down about an hour while the fire was put out and the wreckage was cleared.
