Biloxi and Gulfport have been battling over the same territory since 2009, especially along the Highway 605 corridor.
There are new developments in the five year annexation battle between Gulfport and Biloxi.
Gulfport is asking the Mississippi Supreme Court to dismiss its appeal of an annexation case from Harrison County.
As we've reported over the years, Biloxi and Gulfport have been battling over the same territory since 2009, especially along the Highway 605 corridor.
The annexation includes an unincorporated area along Biloxi's western and northern boundaries.
City leaders for both Gulfport and Biloxi tell us they've decided to settle their differences over existing annexation cases until June of 2017, when the current terms of office expire.
So far, the Supreme Court has not ruled on the motion. The case is scheduled for oral arguments on July 22, in Jackson.
