GULFPORT, Mississippi — Court records show a 24-year-old man held for trial in a case involving 19.5 pounds of crystal meth has decided to change his plea to guilty.
The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1mjECis ) Elieser Sandoval was set for trial June 2 on multiple charges from his arrest in Gulfport on March 13.
A Gulfport police officer reported finding the meth in Sandoval's vehicle during a traffic stop on Interstate 10.
A federal grand jury indicted Sandoval and his passenger in April on charges of conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute and interstate travel in aid of racketeering enterprises.
Court papers don't show which charge Sandoval has decided to accept.
Judge Louis Guirola Jr. dismissed charges against Sandoval's passenger May 9 on a motion from the prosecutor.
